Offshore & Foreign Account Data
11A.1 Collection of Foreign Account Information
If you disclose that you hold, control, or trade through offshore or non-U.S. brokerage accounts, TraderTax will collect and store information related to those accounts as part of the onboarding and filing preparation process. This may include: the name and country of each foreign financial institution; account identifiers; the maximum value of foreign accounts during the tax year; complete transaction history; deposit and withdrawal records; and any prior foreign account reporting history you provide.
11A.2 Purpose of Collection
Foreign account information is collected exclusively for the purpose of facilitating your tax filing engagement through the Platform. This information is shared with your assigned licensed tax professional to enable them to assess applicable reporting requirements (including FBAR and FATCA obligations) and to prepare or advise on your tax filing. TraderTax does not use foreign account information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to your direct service engagement.
11A.3 Access and Handling
Foreign account data is subject to the same access controls, security measures, and confidentiality obligations as all other financial data on the Platform, as described in Sections 3 and 4 of this Privacy Policy. Access is restricted to your assigned tax professional and authorized TraderTax personnel with a legitimate business need. Foreign account information is never sold, shared with third parties for commercial purposes, or disclosed except as required by applicable law or as necessary to deliver your requested services.
11A.4 Your Responsibility for Accuracy
You are solely responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful foreign account information. TraderTax processes and stores the information you provide as-is and does not independently verify the accuracy or completeness of foreign account disclosures.
